I am a Historian, Author, Journalist and Philanthropist. In regular profession I am an Educator and Content Writer.
I belong to the Sabarna Roy Choudhury family of Kolkata — the family which has eked for itself a very high place in the social history of Bengal, mainly for its spiritual fervour and social reforms.
Currently I am the Joint-Secretary of the Sabarna Roy Choudhury Paribar Parishad — the umbrella family organization.
I am also in charge of Sabarna Sangrahashala, which is the only of its kind family museum in Bengal today.
I was also one of the main instigator in the World famous Kolkata Birthday Case whereby the Hon’ble Kolkata High Court in its landmark judgement declared that neither Job Charnock was the founder of Kolkata nor 24 August is the City’s birthday.
Recently, Quiz Katha — my research-oriented quiz book, was released by Professor Karunasindhu Das, Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.
I am also the editor of a very seminal book on the history of our family and Kolkata, Bangiya Sabarna Katha, Kalikshetra Kalikata, and the publisher of Sabarna Barta — the annual family newsletter.
I am dedicated to uphold the rich history, tradition and culture of my family. I wish to fulfill the visions of Laksmikanta Roy Choudhury, who was the first Jaigirdir and Social Reformer of Kolkata.
